Course Description: Definition of sustainable development (linguistic meaning and scientific concept), stages of development of the concept of sustainable development and its content. Familiarize students with the elements of sustainable development, its negative impacts on environmental development and methods of addressing them. Definition of the social and economic dimensions of sustainable development. Knowledge of sustainability in Islamic culture. Identification of the relationship between remote sensing technology and sustainable development. Identification of the environmental impact assessment method for land use activities, and the design of future land use patterns. Practical applications in the field of sustainable development planning and environmental conservation.

Objectives of the course :

Educating the student on the concept of sustainable development with its three dimensions, environmental, social, and economic, and developing their existing abilities so that they can formulate appropriate strategies for sustainable development.
