Foundations of Geographic Information Systems

Course Description: This course aims to introduce the student to the fundamental principles, methods, and techniques of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). It explains the concept of these systems, their components, and their areas of application. The course covers the nature of geographic data, its sources, methods of creation and construction, management, and storage in geographic databases. It also demonstrates how to analyze this data and output it in various forms. The course also includes practical exercises in data input, management, analysis, and output.
