Course Description: Introduction to surveying, its history, classifications, and importance. Presentation of the most important surveying instruments (tape measure - chain - prismatic compass - level - theodolite - total station). Surveying methods using different instruments. Introduction to bearings and deflections, and measurement of distances, areas, and angles. Determining ground surface elevations in the field using a level, and performing different leveling operations. Study of traverse types that can be performed with a theodolite. Tacheometric measurement and land surveying. Surveying methods using a total station instrument.

Teaching students basic arithmetic operations in surveying and the principles and methods of surveying, and developing their skills in using surveying instruments in the field.
