Special Studies in Food and Nutrition

Course Description: To train students on specific topics in the field of food science and human nutrition—students are assigned to select a research topic, compile scientific material on it, and conduct a practical experiment on the chosen topic under the supervision of a faculty member in the department – The student then writes a scientific report on the study and submits it to the supervising professor - Students present and discuss their topic on a date set by the department; the department reserves the right to propose the mechanism it deems appropriate to ensure equality among all students in the implementation of this course and in the method of grading.

Objectives of the course :

1. Assign the student a research topic for which he or she will compile the relevant scholarly material.
2. By writing a scientific report about the study and presenting a report to the supervising professor.
3. The student gives a presentation on the topic under study.

Course outputs :

1) Explains the procedures for addressing and resolving issues related to food science and human nutrition within a work team.
2) Uses computer software, the Internet, and its applications to obtain information relevant to their field of specialization and to write reports.
