Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Explain the role of corporate governance in directing a company's financial decisions and protecting the interests of its stakeholders.
Evaluating capital budgeting methods and their application in assessing projects and investment decisions.
Calculate and interpret the cost of capital, and analyze financial leverage metrics and their impact on company risk and profitability.
Analyze theories of capital structure and required rate of return, and evaluate dividend policy and share repurchase strategies.
* Develop effective working capital management strategies and apply financial statement analysis methods to assess company performance.
Applying facility and equity valuation models, identifying and evaluating financial options, and assessing mergers and acquisitions as strategic corporate finance decisions.
Knowledge and understanding:
Differentiates between advanced financial management concepts, such as corporate governance principles, cost of capital, leverage measures, and capital structure theories, including the required rate of return and capital structure propositions.
Discusses issues related to advanced financial management principles concerning dividend distribution policy and share repurchase strategies, valuation of firms and equity, financial statement analysis, and mergers and acquisitions.
Evaluates capital budgeting decisions and project appraisal, identifies and evaluates financing options, and manages working capital using advanced financial management theories and methods.
