Investment principles

Course Description: The course covers the fundamental principles and concepts of investment, its various instruments and fields, financial markets and institutions and their functions and types, and the main principles underlying investment portfolio management. It also focuses on the dimensions of the investment function to demonstrate skills in the valuation process of financial assets, whether for fixed-income or variable-income financial instruments, taking into account the time value of money, especially the discounted cash flow technique for future cash flows to derive the fair value of securities. The course also enables students to recognize valuation and comparison techniques and models for different investment opportunities, clarifying the relationship between return and risk.

Objectives of the course :

This course aims to provide students with the basic knowledge, concepts, and theories related to investment, its markets, institutions, and various applications. It also aims to equip students with the skill of written presentation of information relevant to the course topics.
