Apparel quality control and inspection

Course Description: The course Garment Inspection and Quality Control (FAD465), which is worth 2 credit hours, covers the identification of aesthetic and functional quality requirements for garments (garment design, performance properties, comfort properties, appearance properties, safety properties, durability properties) for the production of ready-to-wear garments in accordance with local and international standard specifications.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to identify the quality of aesthetic and functional requirements for clothing and production supplies according to local and international standard specifications.

Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:
- It defines the visible characteristics of the product design.
- Defines the functional requirements of clothing (performance properties, comfort properties, safety properties, durability).
-You are aware of the quality of production supplies used in the garment industry.
Skills:
- Analysis of garment manufacturing stages: ”stitch tensile strength - sewing efficiency” according to local and international standard specifications.
- The slip resistance exerted by the yarns of woven fabrics during the knitting process at the joints is discussed through the appropriate stitch tensile strength for the type of fabric.
- Infer the quality specifications for buttons in the garment industry in a way that improves product quality and complies with international standards.
-Establishes the quality specifications of slide fasteners and their application methods in the ready-to-wear garment industry.
- Analyze the relationship between the type and width of elastic bands and their degree of elongation and their ability to return to their original size.
Investigate process variables for adhesive application on different fabrics, explaining the relationship between the types and specifications of different adhesive fabrics and the wrinkling of the outer fabric to achieve a good appearance.
Technological methods are used in the quality production of ready-made garments.
Perform necessary calculations according to local and international standard quality specifications.
