Execution of coats

Course Description: The Coat Construction course (FAD357), worth 2 credit hours, covers types of women's coats, factors influencing the preparation and adjustment of patterns (coat, collar, sleeve), types of sleeves and collars suitable for ladies' coats and their variations, collar patterns and technical terms used in their preparation, interfacing materials and the basis for their selection in coat interlining, and the implementation of techniques for assembling, sewing, and finishing the coat.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to study ladies' coats, their terminology, and the principles of selecting reinforcing materials and their types, with training on drafting the personalized pattern for coat parts, along with optimal selection of designs and suitable materials, and the use of appropriate technical methods for execution.

– You know the coat in its different types.
Multiple factors influencing the preparation of a coat model.
Skills:
– The specifications of the molds (cores and sleeves) and the methods used in their preparation are distinguished.
– A comparison of reinforcing materials used in coatings.
- Mathematical operations are used to draw pattern pieces – the sleeve – and the collar.
– Draw the flat pattern pieces (bodice – collar – sleeve) for the coat in personal size.
– The pattern is modified according to the principles of handling reinforcing materials.
Execute appropriate techniques for cutting, assembling, and finishing the summer coat.
