Course Description: The course "Computer-Aided Pattern Making" (FAD356), offered in the sixth level with 3 credit hours, covers the use of a CAD system for pattern making and design. This includes drafting new patterns or modifying existing ones, and grading them to fit the manufacturer's or client's size charts.

Objectives of the course :

This course aims to use computers in the field of clothing pattern design. The Pattern Design System (PDS) involves drawing lines, points, notches, and basic garment shapes.

Skills:
- Proficient in using CAD software for apparel manufacturing.
The computer is used to determine the relationships between lines, points, and intersection marks for the benefit of the model when drawing the diagram.
– The principles and rules of computer-aided design are applied when modifying models to create new ones.
Lines of all shapes and their corresponding markings are drawn in their places.
– The models are graded with the required measurements according to the size chart.
– Draw a pattern for a blouse or skirt model.
