Implementation of traditional clothing

Course Description: The Traditional Garment Implementation course (FAD355), taught at the sixth level with 2 credit hours, provides an overview of folklore and its importance, its preservation, and its relationship with other sciences. It includes a study of traditional garments (headwear, undergarments, outerwear, veils, face coverings used with them, and attire for various occasions) from the Central Region (Najd), Western Region (Hijaz), Northern Region, Eastern Region, and Southern Region (Abha). The course also highlights similarities between these garments and traditional attire in some Gulf countries. Students will implement various forms of traditional garments using traditional and modern implementation, embellishment, and embroidery techniques.

The course aims to study the Saudi community's clothing heritage and utilize its distinct characteristics in contemporary fashion, keeping pace with modern requirements (materials, lines, techniques, colors) with an developed finishing, embellishment, and embroidery style.
