Fundamentals of Mannequin Modeling

Course Description: The course "Foundations of Draping on the Mannequin (FAD342)", taught at the sixth level with 3 credit hours, covers the concept and types of mannequins, characteristics of a good mannequin, along with studying concepts related to draping on the mannequin, its elements, and foundations. It also covers the necessary tools, its relationship with haute couture, fabric properties that affect the draping process, criteria for good fitting, draping various techniques and simple designs with sleeves using muslin, and completing a project for a daytime dress using the on-mannequin draping technique.

Prerequisites: FAD 341
Objectives of the course :

The course aims to study the mannequin method and its concepts, techniques, elements, foundations, and good control factors, and to execute a dress project suitable for daytime wear using the mannequin draping method.

Defining terms related to mannequins, their types, and uses, while specifying the conditions for a good mannequin.
