The basics of women's fashion design

Course Description: The Fashion Design Fundamentals (FAD334) course, taught at the fifth level with 3 credit hours, covers the concept of a fashion designer, the elements and stages of their work, world-renowned women's fashion designers, basic concepts of female anatomy, average proportions and placement of lines of the educational female mannequin, standard specifications for types of women's clothing and their terminology, along with training on sketching women's clothing designs, clarifying materials, according to the elements and principles of design.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to study the scientific rules and technical principles of fashion design by identifying the basic concepts of a fashion designer, their constituent elements and work stages, in addition to identifying the basic concepts of female human anatomy, balance in the female human body, and studying the average and proportions of the positions of the educational female mannequin lines. It also covers the study of standard specifications for women's outerwear and their components, and training in drawing the mannequin in its various poses, as well as drawing and coloring women's clothing designs and their components.

Knowledge and understanding:
– Identifies the anatomical aspects of the female human body, clarifying the importance of balance in drawing an educational female mannequin.
– Explains women's outerwear vocabulary with an explanation of fashion design principles.
– Illustrates the role of a fashion designer through the components and stages of their work, and provides examples of international fashion designers.
Skills:
Distinguish between types of women's outerwear.
The World Wide Web “Internet” is used to keep up with modern developments in drawing and animating female mannequins.
– The female educational mannequin is drawn from different poses.
– Illustrate various women's clothing, including their vocabulary.
Coloring fashion with appropriate coloring techniques, clarifying shadow and light.
