Course Description: The Art Appreciation course, FAD223, worth 2 credit hours, covers the essence and definitions of art appreciation, its stages, along with the stages of artistic creativity. It also discusses how to practice art appreciation, its theories, applications, and the technical analysis of paintings.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to introduce the student to the concept of artistic appreciation from its three aspects (the appreciator, the artist, and the artwork), the conditions that must be met by the appreciator, and the difference between the stages of artistic creation and appreciation. It also covers applying artistic appreciation in organized academic steps, discussing with colleagues during the aesthetic analysis and artistic appreciation of artworks, and researching online applications of artistic appreciation in ancient and modern civilizations and artistic movements.
