Course Description: The Fibers and Textiles (FAD171) course, taught at the first level with 2 credit hours, covers textile fibers (natural, semi-synthetic, and synthetic) and their production methods. It also explores the physical and mechanical properties of fibers such as cotton, linen, wool, silk, viscose, acetate, polyester, nylon, and acrylic. The course details methods for distinguishing between these fibers using microscopy, burning tests, chemical reagents, and dry distillation.
