Course Description: The Pattern Making course (FAD151), taught at the first level with 3 credit hours, covers the historical development of pattern study, basic rules and concepts of pattern making, methods of obtaining patterns and their drafting rules, dart study (concept, importance, purpose, size, length, side shape), dart manipulation in different locations, dart manipulation in (yokes, ruffles, pleats), drafting the basic pattern for short and long sleeves, drafting the basic pattern for simple collars (sport collar, shirt collar, high Chinese collar), preparing the basic pattern and placing it on the raw fabric, taking into account cutting and sewing marks.

Objectives of the course :
