Basics of design

Course Description: The course "Fundamentals of Design" (FAD112), offered in the second level with 3 credit hours, introduces art and design, their importance, elements, and principles of creation. It covers color, its characteristics, color effects, and applications in composition, as well as creating designs using fundamental principles and various compositional relationships.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to study the elements and foundations of design, functional form, and the unity between art and utilitarianism, analyze nature to arrive at the aesthetics of form and the principles of its creation, reveal new formal relationships for design elements, as well as analyze artworks in terms of design elements (point, line, space, color, and tonal values) and create a design that includes formal relationships according to the design elements.
