Course Description: This course aims to provide students with a solid theoretical background on non-bank financial institutions and markets through the discussion of real-life case studies. This course serves as an introduction to regional and global financial markets and institutions, such as investment banks, brokerage firms, mutual funds, stock exchanges, as well as pension funds and savings and loan associations.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

1- Understanding the role of regulatory bodies in regulating financial institutions and markets.
2- Defining the types of securities that companies can use to raise capital, and how these securities are listed and traded on the stock exchange.
3- Developing the capabilities, skills, and intellectual methods necessary for the decision-making process in financial institutions (analysis, synthesis, deduction, induction, application, evaluation, and critique).
4. Identifying a group of funding institutions and how they work.
