Graduation Project (2)

Course Description: EE 492 is a one-semester continuation of the Senior Design Project-I (SDP-I / EE 491). In collaboration with a team of peers and under the supervision of one or more faculty members, students will be responsible for designing an application project that simulates a realistic work environment they will encounter after graduation. The project must be comprehensive, including all necessary preliminary studies, final design drawings, bills of quantities, and an overall project cost estimate. At the end of the semester, a seminar will be held where the student team will present the project details. An oral examination and team evaluation will also be conducted in conjunction with the presentation and oral discussion.
Credits: 2
Prerequisites: EE 491
Objectives of the course :

Course EE 492 is designed to introduce students to essential electrical engineering projects and components, with the goal of gaining the necessary experience to link the design process with the overall academic program's scientific content. These objectives are achieved by assigning small groups of students the responsibility of designing electrical engineering elements or components under the supervision of faculty members.

Students will be responsible for applying the knowledge and skills they have acquired to complete the required task. Finally, the assessment includes a test comprising a presentation and a written report. This course is the practical and investigative part of the first course, EE 491.

Course outputs :

Identifying design problems by understanding electrical engineering principles and demonstrating comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of various topics in the field of electrical engineering.
* Identifying research and investigation methods to solve electrical engineering problems, contributing to the development of new knowledge or products.
Formulating and solving complex engineering problems by applying fundamental scientific, engineering, and mathematical knowledge.
Design a concept and develop a prototype using software and/or experimental validation of a system, component, model, or process in electrical engineering that meets a set of physical and operational constraints.
Evaluating knowledge based on scientific research and studying various methods for recommending specific designs for suitable solutions in electrical engineering.
Develop an alternative methodology for an electrical engineering design problem, then use software or practical experiments to critically analyze and understand the results of each design.
* Preparing distinguished technical reports and accompanying oral presentations, with the ability to interact with technical inquiries from the audience.
Applying a variety of modern tools, techniques, and engineering software to solve, predict, and evaluate complex problems in electrical engineering.
Recognizing intellectual property rights and ethical values when preparing documents and using software and technologies.
Work effectively within a team that shares leadership, striving to create a collaborative and inclusive environment, setting goals, planning tasks, and achieving them.
