Course Description: The content of this course is determined according to the latest topics in the field to serve the job market or according to the interests of the faculty member with the aim of enhancing the student's expertise and knowledge. The first part of this course includes an overview of the electricity market and new and renewable energy sources, and includes: An overview of the local electricity grid. Introduction to renewable energy. Opportunities and challenges of renewable energy. Integration of distributed generation and large-scale generation from renewable energy sources. Sustainability in electric power systems. The second part includes the control and operation of modern electric power systems, and includes: Modeling of renewable energy systems. Automatic generation control. Impacts of large-scale integration of renewable energy generation.
