This course aims to provide electrical engineering students with the fundamental concepts and applications of power electronics. The main objective of the course is to equip students with the following knowledge:
* Introduce the student to the basic elements of power electronics components and systems.
Enable the student to distinguish between different types of continuous assessment techniques.
* Introducing the student to the advantages of using thyristors in rectifier circuits.
Introduce the student to the essential elements of DC chopper systems.
* Introduce the student to the basic elements of inverter circuits.
* Examination and design of different power transformers with various types of loads.
A study of the design of different power transformers under various operating conditions using practical experiments.
Using simulation software to design and simulate power transformers.
Preparing laboratory technical reports and conducting oral discussions within the work team.
Work as a team player with personal accountability as a team member.
