Objectives of the course :

This course aims to
Provide electrical engineering students with the fundamental concepts and applications of power electronics.
Introduce students to the fundamentals and concepts related to power electronics circuits and their applications.
Introducing students to fundamental information about semiconductor devices used in power electronics and their characteristics.
* Enable students to understand different types of power converters and their applications such as rectifiers, DC choppers, AC voltage controllers, and inverters.
Enable students to understand the concept of Electronic Switches Converters (Power Converters) for controlling power flow in electrical power grids.
Provide students with the necessary skills to analyze, design, simulate, and test power electronics circuits.
Preparing students for advanced topics such as Electric Drives and graduation projects.

Course outputs :

Discussion of power electronics fundamentals, semiconductor devices, power conversion, and the concept of energy harvesting.

Analysis of AC/DC, AC/AC, and DC/AC converters with different types of loads.

Analysis and design of different topologies for DC/DC power converters.

Using simulation software to design and simulate power transformers.
