Course Description: This course provides a comprehensive study of common musculoskeletal and non-musculoskeletal conditions that a physical therapist may encounter. It focuses on principles of evidence-based clinical examination and differential diagnosis, and on developing clinical decision-making skills to identify conditions appropriate for physical therapy and those that require referral to other specialists. The course also enhances the ability to differentiate between overlapping medical, neurological, and orthopedic problems and to apply the “treat or refer” principle within the scope of physical therapy professional practice.

Application of Evidence-Based Practice Principles in Clinical Decision-Making in Primary Physical Therapy Care.
