Course Description: This course introduces students to the principles and practices of evidence-based physical therapy in intensive care units and acute care. It focuses on the assessment and management of critically ill patients, including traumatic injuries, burns, wounds, cardiorespiratory conditions, and surgical cases. It also covers clinical assessment methods, patient monitoring, and therapeutic interventions necessary to restore function and improve health outcomes for patients in acute care settings.

Objectives of the course :

Recognize the general principles of emergency and acute conditions and the equipment used in intensive care units.
Identify clinical assessment methods for conditions requiring acute care, including unconscious patients, cardiac patients, burns, hemorrhage, and various injuries.
Description of the therapeutic principles and evidence-based procedures necessary to restore function and improve the health status of patients in acute care units.
