Clinical Practice in Physical Therapy for Women's Health

Course Description: This is a full-time clinical course. Students will observe and apply evidence-based management to various obstetrical and gynecological conditions under full supervision. During this course, students will rotate through an obstetrics and gynecology hospital, where they will manage both inpatient and outpatient cases. The clinical sites will provide ample opportunities for students to practice various assessment and management procedures with patient consent. These clinical experiences will expose students to a diverse range of obstetrical and gynecological conditions at different levels of patient care, and enable them to apply appropriate safety measures.

Objectives of the course :

By the end of the course, the student should be able to:
Linking medical knowledge and physical therapy to achieve an accurate diagnosis in physical therapy.
2. Application of various physiotherapy methods used in obstetrics and gynecology.
3. Develop an evidence-based treatment plan for each patient in the obstetrics and gynecology department.
4. Application of primary prophylactic treatment for various gynecological and obstetric patients.
Demonstrate effective collaboration with all team members, verbally and in writing.
6. Implement safety procedures.

Recognizing various gynecological and obstetric conditions, their clinical presentations, and treatment options.

 

• Applying clinical reasoning in the evaluation of physical therapy in accordance with the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) model for various obstetric and gynecological conditions.
