Gait and motion analysis

Course Description: The course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand and analyze normal and pathological gait, evaluate kinematic and biomechanical variables associated with gait using clinical methods and modern technologies, and utilize the analysis results to design evidence-based therapeutic and rehabilitative programs to improve functional performance and quality of life in patients.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

1. Introduce students to the basic principles of natural gait and its associated biomechanics.
2. Equipping students with knowledge regarding the phases of the gait cycle and the factors influencing motor performance during walking.
3. Training students on the use of modern gait analysis tools and techniques in clinical and research evaluation.
4. Preparing students to design evidence-based therapeutic and rehabilitative programs to improve walking efficiency and functional abilities of patients.
5. Enhancing communication skills and teamwork within multidisciplinary healthcare teams in the management of gait disorder cases.
6. Consolidating the principles of professional and ethical practice and continuous learning in the field of movement and gait analysis.
