Manual therapy

Course Description: This course aims to build the necessary knowledge and skills for students, including knowledge of evidence-based practices, which are essential to provide them with the basic knowledge of physiological effects, indications, contraindications, and the application of spinal manipulation and extremity joint mobilization techniques, myofascial release, medical massage, acupressure, reflexology, and shiatsu.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

1. Acquire the necessary knowledge about the scientific, physiological, and therapeutic effectiveness of various manual therapy techniques.
2. Plan and implement evidence-based interventions according to outcome measures for individuals with various conditions.
3. Safely and effectively perform various manual therapy techniques.

Course outputs :

1.1 Defining key concepts and theories of packing and soft tissue manipulation techniques for managing various conditions encountered in physical therapy. .
1.2 Description of procedures for various manual therapy techniques necessary for managing diseases and promoting health. 2.1 Practicing various manual therapy methods safely and effectively in different diseases and disorders, and using various manual therapy equipment to manage conditions safely and effectively.
2.2 Demonstrate problem-solving skills in evidence-based physical therapy for various conditions.
3.1 Demonstrate the behaviors required for competent professional practice, including teamwork and continuous self-learning skills.
