Contemporary Economic Issues

Course Description: This course aims to introduce and analyze a range of contemporary economic issues, most notably: unemployment, inflation, poverty, globalization, sustainable development, resource scarcity, education, corruption, contemporary financial crises, energy and environmental pollution, foreign direct investment, the global trading system and the new protectionism, as well as economic growth in developing countries, fiscal and monetary policies, and exchange rate policies.
Credit hours: 3
Objectives of the course :

1- Develop a comprehensive understanding of key contemporary economic issues, including unemployment, inflation, poverty, and globalization.
Analysis of the causes and consequences of current economic challenges at the global and national levels, in addition to evaluating policy responses to them.
3- Studying the role of fiscal, monetary, and exchange rate policies in addressing contemporary economic problems.
4- Assessing the impact of globalization, foreign direct investment, and international trade systems on economic development.
5-Analysis of issues related to sustainable development, energy challenges, and environmental considerations in modern economies.
Enhancing critical thinking and economic analysis skills to interpret real-world economic phenomena and propose evidence-based policy solutions.
