Microeconomic Analysis (Advanced)

Course Description: This course aims to solidify students' understanding of the importance of market mechanisms as an effective tool for resource allocation within the economy. The course also delves into the fundamental theories of consumer behavior and firm theory. Within this framework, a number of topics will be covered, including demand and supply, consumer choices, profit maximization, market types, market efficiency, welfare economics, and others. The course also focuses on applying microeconomic concepts within the Saudi context, alongside other contexts.

Objectives of the course :

1- Definition and explanation of basic microeconomic concepts, such as utility, demand, cost, production, supply, perfect competition, monopoly, oligopoly, and others.
2- Demonstrate effective written communication skills when analyzing real-world economic problems, while developing the ability to understand how concepts and methods are used in contemporary microeconomic discussions.
Employing a variety of analytical tools and techniques to address problems in microeconomics.
