Course Description: This course focuses on the fundamental concepts of econometrics, reviewing the concept of economic measurement and its relationship with other sciences such as economic theory, mathematics, and statistics. The course also covers economic models, variables, and their types. Additionally, it addresses methods of estimating linear and nonlinear models using ordinary least squares and analysis of variance tables. The course also deals with measurement problems, methods of detecting them, and how to address them, in addition to the use of dummy variables, lagged variables, and dynamic models.

Objectives of the course :

This course aims to introduce students to the fundamental concepts of econometrics, estimating econometric models, conducting necessary statistical tests, and interpreting the results. The course also aims to equip students with practical computer skills related to econometrics using the Eviews program, through real-world data for an economic or financial problem.
