Course Description: This course presents the concept of international trade, then delves into the various theories formulated to explain international trade and the reasons for its occurrence between different countries, such as the theory of absolute advantage, comparative advantage, and the factor proportions theory. It also explains the benefits countries derive from participating in international trade, the importance, and advantages of free trade. Furthermore, the course focuses on the issue of trade policies, their types, the reasons why countries resort to them to restrict trade, and the potential consequences. The course also includes a presentation of the concept of economic integration and the role of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Objectives of the course :

This course aims to introduce students to the fundamental concepts and theories related to the reasons for and importance of trade between nations, the significance of free trade, and an analysis of the gains realized from trade exchanges between different countries. The course also aims to equip students with the ability to analyze ethical responsibilities related to free trade and the role of trade policies, as well as to develop students' oral communication skills to interpret and apply economic analysis tools to international trade.
