Course Description: This course examines the concept of Islamic economics, its principles, foundations, and history, while discussing microeconomic and macroeconomic topics and issues from an Islamic economic perspective. The course also clarifies the rules and pillars upon which Islamic economics is based, all in comparison with conventional economics. Furthermore, the course reviews contemporary financial and economic issues and crises, and how Islamic economics is presented as an alternative solution to address those crises.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: ECON120
Objectives of the course :

After completing this course, the student will be able to:
1. Definition of Sharia principles and objectives related to economic matters.
2. Organizing Islamic principles and values, upon which Islamic economics is based.
3. Applying communication skills to contemporary microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts from an Islamic perspective.
4. Determine the relationship of Islamic economics with other economic sciences.

1.2 Explains the difference between Islamic economics and other economies, the concept of economic resources, income, consumption, production, and finance from the perspective of Islamic economics.
