Course Description: Focusing on the Saudi economy in its applied aspects, this course presents a sociological and psychological introduction to understanding the economic phenomenon in human life, both ancient and modern. It also discusses the nature of economics in the context of its epistemological oscillation between social and pure sciences. It provides an in-depth introduction to understanding the economic component in its micro, macro, international, and behavioral dimensions and analyzing its pivotal impacts on the business environment. The course explores neoliberalism as the basis of the global economy in the context of globalization, evaluating and analyzing its outcomes and alternatives, alongside competing economic philosophies, including international economic institutions, their policies, programs, and impacts. The course also addresses an analytical approach to how fiscal and monetary policies are used to achieve economic stability and growth and their implications for business and investment, in addition to important contemporary economic issues such as inflation, unemployment, and financing, and analyzing their implications for the business environment.
