Advanced Oral and Dental Health

Course Description: This course provides in-depth insights into advanced aspects of oral and dental health, introducing students to Perioscopy, various types of periodontal surgeries, pre-surgical preparation, surgical instruments, and post-surgical healing. It also provides an overview of evidence-based oral and dental health practice, enabling students to develop their skills in searching for, analyzing, and presenting clinical data through seminar presentations.

Objectives of the course :

This course primarily aims to introduce students to advanced aspects of oral and dental health and to develop their skills in presenting scientific lectures.

Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:

 

The student recalls the basic principles of surgical cutting techniques and the instruments used in surgical periodontal therapy.

The student will learn the importance of PICO analysis in the process of evidence-based decision-making.

The student should summarize surgical periodontal treatments related to excisional, regenerative, rehabilitative reconstructive, and cosmetic periodontal surgeries.

Students will memorize the technical concepts of depth perception in dentistry (Perioscopy) and its role in oral health care.

Skills:

For the student to analyze the different levels of scientific literature in the process of evidence-based decision-making.
