Basic Oral Health Practices

This course is designed to develop essential skills in preparation for clinical practice. It provides students with an understanding of the subject matter while conveying core essential information, and guides students step-by-step through each fundamental process or skill.

Objectives of the course :

This course primarily aims to include skills activities and exercises that require students to expand their knowledge and imagination in routine clinical oral health care settings, to adequately prepare them for the workplace. It also aims to review the various advanced diagnostic methods available for diagnosing periodontal diseases.

Course outputs :

Knowledge and understanding:

The student will define the role of oral health professionals in diverse dental settings.

The student will learn the importance of flexibility and reassessing the oral health treatment plan when providing care to patients with diverse needs.

That the student plans treatment using the highest levels of professional knowledge, judgment, ethical reasoning, and decision-making in accordance with the professional code of ethics, and that this planning is based on knowledge with respect for all local and federal laws.
