Oral Health and Dental Hygiene Practice (Master)

Course Description: This course aims to prepare students to manage the oral health needs of patients with moderate to advanced periodontal disease. It equips students with clinical skills in diagnosis, treatment planning, and the delivery of competent oral health care. Students will also gain advanced clinical skills such as advanced manual scaling and ultrasonic scaling for comprehensive periodontal debridement under local anesthesia, and periodontal preventive care for patients with systemic diseases, in particular.

Objectives of the course :

This course primarily aims to enable students to provide effective oral and dental healthcare to ordinary patients and patients with systemic diseases at a competent level.

The student will recall the principles of oral health care for patients with moderate to severe periodontitis.

The student will retain the concepts of periodontal management for patients with systemic diseases.

Skills:

The student should demonstrate effective communication skills when interacting with patients, colleagues, and faculty members.

To develop a comprehensive oral health care plan for both regular patients and patients with systemic diseases.

The student performs clinical procedures for the effective management of periodontitis in stages III and IV using ultrasonic techniques and advanced instruments under local anesthesia.
