Oral Health in Aging and Special Conditions

Course Description: This course includes two credit hours of theoretical lectures. It is an elective course within the department, aiming to teach about the elderly population and the management of their healthcare in Saudi Arabia and worldwide.

Objectives of the course :

This course primarily aims to introduce students to the psychological, social, and physical changes associated with the aging process and in patients with special needs, and how these changes are reflected in general and oral healthcare and the maintenance of these patients.

The student lists the goals, objectives, and scope of geriatrics.

To list common oral medical and health problems in elderly patients.
