Oral Health Practice (Intermediate)

Course Description: This course aims to prepare students to handle the oral and dental health needs of patients with mild to moderate periodontitis. It equips them with clinical skills in diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivering timely oral and dental healthcare at an intermediate level. Additionally, students acquire clinical skills such as advanced manual techniques and ultrasonic scaling for thorough periodontal debridement under local anesthesia, as well as periodontal maintenance care.

Objectives of the course :

This course aims primarily to enable students to provide intermediate-level oral and dental health care using advanced automated and ultrasonic techniques.

Retrieve the components of the diagnosis, prognosis, and comprehensive oral and dental healthcare plan.

Maintaining oral and dental healthcare principles in patients with mild to moderate periodontitis.

Distinguishing between the various basic and advanced periodontal instruments.

Demonstrating effective communication skills while interacting with patients, colleagues, and faculty members.

Perform clinical procedures for the effective management of stage II and III periodontitis under local anesthesia.
