Laser applications in oral health

Course Description: This course provides an overview of laser principles, applications, and various types, with an emphasis on lasers used in non-surgical periodontal procedures. It also explains how light is generated within the laser and how it interacts with various oral tissues. The course aims to teach students how lasers interact with tissues, the appropriate settings, and the necessary safety measures when handling lasers. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand the role of lasers in mediating the inflammatory process, non-surgical laser periodontal procedures, and the effects of lasers used within the oral cavity.
