Introduction to Oral Health Practice

Course Description: This course aims to provide students with the fundamental concepts of diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment modalities in oral health and dentistry. It also introduces students to the instruments used in oral health and dentistry practices and enables them to effectively and systematically train on their use through simulation models.
Credit hours: 3
Prerequisites: DENT237
Objectives of the course :

This course aims to enable students to acquire the essential skills for using oral and dental health tools in the laboratory before starting clinical practice.

Course outputs :

Retrieve periodontal examination components.
Memorize the principles of risk assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment plan.
List the principles of periodontal instruments, instrument sharpening, calculus removal, and root planing.
Classification of Basic and Advanced Periodontal Instruments.
Skills:
Distinguishing between basic and advanced periodontal instruments.
Demonstrate principles and techniques of using periodontal instruments.
Show the correct way to sharpen tools.
Values and Responsibility
