Community Dental Health (1)

Course Description: This course establishes the fundamental values, core concepts, and methodology in community oral and dental health practices. It addresses the basics of health, public health, and community oral and dental health, along with their importance. It also discusses the similarities and differences between private practice and the role of the oral and dental health professional in public health. Furthermore, the course provides an overview of the healthcare system and oral and dental health in Saudi Arabia. Principles of health promotion and preventive strategies for oral diseases are introduced, in addition to health education and its various methods, which are covered in detail in theoretical and practical aspects. Fluoride and its importance in dentistry, along with its different application systems, are also presented.

Objectives of the course :

This course aims to provide students with basic knowledge in community oral and dental health by offering an overview of the dental public health system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a focus on preventing oral diseases, especially through health education. .
