Oral structure and function

Course Description: The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the fundamental concepts of growth and development, as well as the processes of maturation and aging that occur in the tissues and organs within the oral cavity, along with their functions. This is intended to prepare the student for subsequent preclinical and clinical stages.

Objectives of the course :

The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to the basic concepts of growth and development, and the processes of maturation and aging that occur in the tissues and organs within the oral cavity.

Identify the structures and functions of dental tissues.

Anatomical structure and physiological functions of the supporting tissues of teeth and oral cavity tissues.

Discussion of the stages of oral and dental cavity development.

Describe the basic theories of the stages related to the development of oral cavities.

Skills:

Identification of the natural histological characteristics of oral and dental tissues.

Applying modern technology and searching for up-to-date information related to oral structures and functions.

Application of anatomy, histology, and embryology to understand the macroscopic and microscopic characteristics, functions, and development of oral tissues and associated tissues.
