Course Description: The course "Recent Developments in Textile Finishing" (DESI726) is offered for second-level PhD students in Clothing and Textile Design and Embroidery. It is worth 2 credit hours and covers the stages of textile finishing, sources of pollution in chemical treatments, biotechnology and its applications, biotechnological treatments for cellulosic fabrics, biotechnological treatments for protein and synthetic fabrics, applications of biotechnology in the textile industry, recent trends in textile finishing (smart finishing technology, nanotechnology), eco-labeling for textiles, cleaner production in textiles and its obstacles, and applicable standards for textiles.
