Course Description: Traditional embroidery (DESI722), which is taught at the level of the Doctor of Philosophy in the design and embroidery of clothing and textiles at the first level with 3 credit hours, deals with traditional arts and their role in society, the characteristics and features of traditional decorations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, traditional decorations and their relationship with heritage, recognizing the fields of folklore science - the importance of heritage - heritage and social development, environmental factors affecting traditional decorations, traditional decorations on (women's clothing, headdresses, costume accessories, children's clothing) The importance of heritage - heritage and social development, environmental factors affecting traditional motifs, traditional motifs on (women's clothes, headdresses, costume accessories, children's clothes), methods used in the implementation of traditional motifs, types of stitches used in traditional motifs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, decoration in the style of added fabric -The implementation of decorative compositions for the region (Central, South, North, East, West) with the use of traditional decorative designs in (the structural design of the women's cloak, headdresses, costume accessories (bag - belt), children's clothes), and the implementation of traditional decorations on the aforementioned pieces using the chain stitch of its types (adjacent - adjacent - spaced - double).(single-multiple-closed-straight), the feather in its types (single-multiple-closed-straight), and the method of added textile - added cost, sustainability and its role in preserving the identity of traditional clothes and decorations and methods of implementation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
