The course aims to study computer-aided pattern design and drawing systems (capabilities – main tasks – importance – benefits), the computer as an aid in the CAD design process (drawing and preparing patterns – grading – preparing marker layout), the AccuMark software, and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems (production processes starting from planning to design – pattern grading and marker layout – spreading process – cutting – printing – embroidery – knitting – ironing), and the use of computers in Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) (local and wide area networks in the garment industry).
1 Knowledge and Understanding
1.1 Computer System Diversity in the Apparel Industry and what each system offers in the ready-to-wear garment manufacturing chain.
1.2 Computer systems as assistants in the CAD design process.
1.3 Identify the features of using computer systems as an aid in the CAM process in the apparel manufacturing production stages.
2 Skills
2.1 Effectively communicate the results of technical reports related to computer applications for product data management to link all departments, saving time and effort.
2.2 Analysis of Production Processes Using Computers as an Aid in Ready-to-Wear Garment Manufacturing.
Computer systems applications are used in the ready-to-wear clothing industry.
2.4 Calculate the cutting plan for different production operations and the average consumption per piece to determine the required raw material quantities.
2.5 Connects production processes with stages of garment industry production using a computer.
3 Values, Independence, and Responsibility
3.1 Collaborates with colleagues in a work team to find innovative solutions to technical problems using garment manufacturing software.
