Designing and shaping evening wear

Course Description: This course, "Evening Wear Design and Shaping" (DESI714), offered in the second level of the PhD in Apparel Design and Production program, is worth 3 credit hours. It covers all aspects of wedding dresses, including their historical development and intangible influences in the past and present, their accessories, the most important fabrics used, and their production techniques. The course also explores the use of modern technology in designing and shaping evening wear to activate sustainable fashion practices.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to study the types of fabrics used in evening wear, the study of invisible effects, both ancient and modern, related to evening wear, and the definition of a wedding dress and its accessories, the production and implementation of invisible effects, and the production of an evening dress with a long train and decorated with lace units.
