Advanced Fashion Design

Course Description: The Advanced Fashion Design course (DESI711), offered in the first level of the PhD in Fashion Design and Production program with 3 credit hours, covers the study and classification of different types of women's apparel (lingerie, loungewear, sportswear) and suitable fabrics. It also addresses the designer's portfolio (types, components, formation principles), the fundamentals of flat pattern drawing and rendering of innovative design proposals for women's apparel (lingerie, loungewear, sportswear). The course examines the emergence of apparel (lingerie, loungewear, sportswear) in global fashion trends as outerwear inspired by key design lines of these garments, and sustainability in sportswear.

Objectives of the course :

The course aims to study the different types of women's clothing (lingerie, loungewear, sportswear), the suitable materials for them, and sustainability in sportswear. It also covers training on the principles of flat design drawing, and drawing and coloring innovative design proposals for women's clothing (lingerie, loungewear, sportswear). Additionally, it addresses the principles of designing a designer's portfolio, starting from the design to the execution of the garment.
