Advanced Periodontal Clinics

Course Description: This course is designed to familiarize students with various periodontal surgical techniques. It will particularly focus on aesthetic approaches, guiding dental students through the surgical procedures of the mucogingival region.
Credits: 2
Prerequisites: DENT 313
Objectives of the course :

Classification of surgical flap approaches for various periodontal disease conditions.
• Recognizing the relationship between gums and tooth restoration, as in cases of crown lengthening and gum recession.
Planning and practicing regenerative periodontal treatments, including tissue regeneration techniques.

Course outputs :

• Identification of problems in the mucogingival junction and design of appropriate esthetic periodontal surgery.
• Observe and perform various sewing techniques.
Gain clinical experience in most aspects of periodontal surgery by assisting faculty members at the college. .
