Course Description: This course is designed to provide students with an understanding and practical exercises on the main concepts of research methods, oral health learning, and preventive care for patients. It will also discuss the importance of evidence-based dentistry and competency-based dentistry. This course will enhance the critical thinking and organizational skills of dental students. It will also improve students' ability to function as an advanced member of a healthcare team.

Objectives of the course :

By the end of this course, the student should be able to:
• Develop a proposal for a clinical social work or research area.
A rating is given to researchers in the field of dentistry regarding a specific topic.
• Planning and conducting a survey based on methodologies and methods of the World Health Organization to assess the community's oral health needs.
• Design a questionnaire and test its validity.
• Discuss the importance and relevance of evidence-based dentistry and dental patient care.

Course outputs :

• Description of the main principles and methods used in preclinical dentistry.
• Design and evaluate oral health education according to the needs of a specific community group.
• Describe the main components of the health care system, including its structure, financial resources, and workforce.
