Course Description: This preclinical course is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and laboratory technical skills required for patients needing complete removable dentures. Regarding the preclinical endodontics, this course will expose students to clinical-like conditions to develop the necessary skills for successful anterior root canal treatment. For preclinical conservative dentistry, students will gain knowledge and practice under clinical-like conditions, which are important for fabricating non-cast restorations retained by pins and posts. Additionally, this course will introduce students to cavity preparation design and tooth preparation for cast restorations. In terms of fixed prosthodontics, students will learn in a preclinical simulation to perform all types of preparations and steps necessary for fabricating crowns and bridges.

Objectives of the course :

• Perform manufacturing techniques for complete removable dentures after understanding the anatomical structure of the edentulous mouth and for the student to be familiar with the use of materials and devices.
• Complete anterior tooth root canal treatment after learning about the tools and materials used in nerve treatment.

Course outputs :

• Perform all laboratory steps prior to the necessary steps for preparing fixed partial dentures.
• Practice all methods of pin and post fabrication and application of rules for cast intracoronal restorations, cast extracoronal restorations, and cast restorations with occlusal extensions.
