Scientific editing

Course Description: One of the crucial aspects of the scientific process is the recording of new research findings in scientific journals in order to disseminate this information to the larger community of dentists. Access to findings contributes to the formation of a body of knowledge within the dental specialty and often provides information that helps others interpret their own experimental results. Most journals do not accept research for publication until peer review by a panel of scientists working in the same field, who recommend publication in the scientific journal. The Scientific Editing of Dental Journals course contributes to providing students early on with the fundamental principles necessary for performing scientific writing, editing, and publication review. Students are also expected to demonstrate maturity in judging articles and research, as well as evaluating significant data that would increase the chances of publication.
